Living & open space

Hideaway kitchen
in the living room

An architectural volume when closed. A professional kitchen when it opens.

The open-space living problem

In an open space, the kitchen always ends up stealing the scene.

In open-plan environments, where living, dining and kitchen share the same visual space, a traditional kitchen — with doors, appliances and worktop always on display — inevitably becomes the dominant element of the room. Monolitika was created for those who want a clean, continuous living space, where the kitchen appears only when needed: closed, it's a sculptural volume, a sort of design sideboard or credenza; open, it reveals a complete kitchen, with the same build quality as a traditional one.

A piece of furniture, not an appliance

Designed as a cabinet.
Not as a kitchen.

01

Design-furniture finishes

Sablè lacquer in 16 price-list colours (RAL, Sikkens, NCS, Farrow&Ball on request, at no extra cost) and two collections — CUBE geometric and compact, LINE thinner and more linear — designed to converse with the living room's furniture, not to recall kitchen aesthetics.

02

Floor-standing or wall-mounted

The AIR model, wall-mounted, accentuates the "floating furniture" effect particularly effective in minimal living rooms; the GROUND model, floor-standing, offers a more solid presence when the living room calls for a more structured volume.

03

Opens only when needed

Damped lids that open vertically, with no hinged doors that intrude into the walking space: ideal in open spaces where the kitchen coexists with the dining area and sofa just steps away.

The reveal

Open,
a complete kitchen.

Damped lids lift up to reveal a flush sink, an induction hob with up to 4 zones and anti-fingerprint HPL worktops. Everything within reach when cooking, everything invisible when hosting in the living room.
